Urban Shredding

For so long I've tried to organized heads to do some Urban jibbing in Brooklyn. But due to the limited amount of snowfall and proper takes offs, it has become really difficult to get a nice set up going with the right crew. Too much planning and last minute scrambling can leave you out there for dolo. It's hard to build a kicker with out man power. But today is a new day my fellow shredders! introducing the Bungee Banshee!

Mannnnn it is so on this winter. This simple bungee cord just opened up the entire city to shredding. A session in Breevoort Projects is going down for sure kid. All you really need is 2-3 shredders to make a session happen with ease.

"White Wash" The black Surfing documentary

Last Thursday 8:30pm in Marcus Garvey Park, Harlem NYC, I had the honor to see Trespass films documentary "White Wash" and I have to say that I was so moved by the stories of other African American Surfers and the great deal of history Surfing has with our Ancestors. And it even deals with why African Americans are not involved in aquatic sports. YOU have to see this film and support it! I'm not alone in the mission to bring board sports to the community with "Hoods to Woods". I'm a Snowboarder turned Surfer, and you have to give it a try. I can only explain Surfing as being born all over again. Enjoy the trailer and support this film

Hoods to Woods trailer #1

Hoods to Woods trailer #1 from Brian Paupaw on Vimeo.

"Hoods to Woods" is a documentary based on the story of Brian "Deka" Paupaw and his journeys from the inner city streets of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn to the deep powder backcountry mountains in North and South America. Through Brian's self told story, we experience how the culture of snowboarding transformed a life, once stifled by the social constraints of the streets, into one which is only bounded by the edge of a mountain.
